She is survived by her children Ronald (Mischa) Libman, Ilene (Joseph) Seligmann, and Adam (Patrica) Libman; and by her beloved grandchildren Bradley, Justin, Emily, Jack, Kaitlyn, Katherine, and Noa.
Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Roosevelt University, a master’s degree in Microbiology from Northeastern Illinois University, and a master’s degree in Social Work from Roosevelt University. Her career reflected her lifelong curiosity and drive to help others. She worked as a microbiologist, a medical device designer, a social worker, and a bookkeeper, and she also taught Biology at both the junior high and college levels.
A devoted learner throughout her life, Sheila never stopped taking classes, including in-depth studies of world religions, and becoming proficient in Spanish at age 75. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her wisdom, warmth, and spirit will be deeply missed.
