Dr. Hagler was my pediatrician along with my 2 older brothers from the South Side of Chicago.  I remember going in for our physicals and then going to the Tastee Freeze by his office.  He saved my brother's life when he was a baby due to an infection that was going through his chest.  He took care of my cousin who had major heart problems and was a special case at Children's Memorial.  We loved him so much and were so sad when he moved out of the South Side.  Within the next year, my family moved to Glenview and were so happy that Dr. Hagler had moved his office to Niles.  We once again had him as our pediatrician.  We still talk about him with my father.  I had the opportunity to speak with your father about 2 years ago when he called the temple I was working at.  When he said his name I told him who I was and he remembered us.  He will be sorely missed.  What a great man

My heartfelt sympathies to the Hagler family! Very sorry to hear of his passing. I fondly remember your dad's kindness, wisdom, and most important his deep compassion for his family and humanity. I feel honored to have met such a great man. My prayers are with you all.

Dr. Hagler was so incredibly kind and wise. I truly enjoyed our visits together. He will be missed!

Dr.  Hagler was our pediatrician for many years. Our first son was born prematurely and we had wonderful support and care provided by him. He was alone in his practice for many years, but always had time to talk. We learned that his Russian mother had few toys and birthdays were not celebrated, as so many infants died early. Dr. Hagler was convinced that an outbreak of measles on college campuses was due to improper storage of the vaccine. He would pick up the vaccine, transport it in a refrigerated container, and drive directly to his office. He chose his staff carefully and wisely and we benefited from their care and competence. Dr. Hagler was a caring, devoted physician and we were blessed to have known him.

I know Sumner from our art group. He made a biography booklet of the people in the group, which was so nice to have. He was a very kind, gentle soul, and will be missed. I am glad to have known him and to be able to have shared some Thursday afternoons with him.

Dr. Hagler was the nicest doctor who took his time with you and never rushed you along.  My brothers and I went to him our whole childhood life. One time I came in for an appointment when I was 16 and he asked me what I was doing that summer and from then on I worked in the office for almost ten years helping with the phones, filing, making appointments, etc. I saw all the changes in North Arlington Pediatrics, it was a great place to work.  Dr. Hagler will truly be missed but I am glad he can now be with Nettie again.

I can still remember the advice your dad gave me more than 40 years ago as a young patient in his office - such a kind, caring, and gentle soul.  His words will be remembered forever!  This world will miss Dr. Hagler...

I am deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Hagler's passing. My heartfelt condolences to the family. One on my first jobs as a pediatric nurse was working beside him at North Arlington Pediatrics. He truly captured the meaning of a compassionate physician. He will surely be missed.

What a wonderful compassionate doctor! Not only was Dr. Hagler THE pediatrician to my four children from birth until their going-off- to - college physicals, but he also was "Dr. Spock" in the flesh. His wisdom and calm demeanor helped me negotiate the uncharted territory known as Parenthood..Be assured that Dr. Haggler was an inspiration to many-- my oldest son is now a doctor because of Dr. Hagler's encouragement.  Thank you and my deepest condolences to the family.

Forty two years ago Dr Hagler hired me to work in his office. I worked in that office for 38 years with him and after he had retired. I always impressed on the staff the Dr Hagler way of treating the patients and their families. I was lucky to see him in the hospital last Monday when he seemed to be improving. We talked about all the fun we had over the years and wanted to get the old gang together for lunch when he was back home. He will be sorely missed. I kissed him and told him I loved him, I will always be grateful for that day.

What a beautiful legacy you leave- 3 adults, a Granddaughter & all the kids that you kept healthy including mine. You are a kind, compassionate, dedicated & funny person. How we use to chase Jayne around the office to give her an injection.  Now you are re-united with Nettie & if I know her she would say " Sumner, I'm going to show you the ropes". Sumner was a real gentleman.  My daughter saw him from her birth 45 years ago until she was 16.  He was in our art class, and we shall really miss him.
