

Tova (Gitel) Zylberman nee Neuman, 95, beloved wife of the late Gershon; loving mother of Steven (Karen) and the late Michael; cherished grandmother of Lauren Zylberman (Nathan) Mostow, Shani Zylberman (David) Roer, and Samantha Zylberman; great-grandmother to Lila, Zachary, and Miles Mostow, and Maytal Roer; beloved sister of the late Diana Ackerman, Sylvia Aaron, and Max Neuman; she is also survived by brother Sidney Neuman, and many nieces and nephews.
Tova was a Holocaust survivor who, along with Gershon, started their married lives in Israel before moving to Uruguay. They eventually made it to the United States, where through hard work and dedication they accomplished the American dream, establishing a successful bakery, Gitel’s Kosher Bakery, that brought joy to a large part of Chicago’s Northside Jewish community and countless others. She will be remembered for her warmth, gentleness, kindness, and generosity and her memory is a blessing to those who knew her.
Funeral service will be on Monday, April 17th, at 9:00 AM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, Illinois, followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
