George was 79 years old, and lived each of those years to the fullest. He was born in Heber,
CA and built a life and raised in family in Carson, CA. George is survived by his wife of 50
years, Antonieta Baca, children George (Melissa) Baca, Bernadette (Jesse) Grijalva, and Dianne
Garcia. George took a lot of pride in being a father, so there was no question that the love for
his grandchildren was immeasurable. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; Cecelia,
Anissa (Moses), Arianna, Maiyah, Carmen, Jesse Jr, Korinah, and great grand-daughter Sophia.
As much as his family’s heart are hurting, they find comfort in knowing that he will be reunited
with his son, Oscar, in heaven.
George suffered a life-altering event when he lost his hearing at the young age of 19, however
he did not let that hold him back from “living la vida loca.” He spent 22 years as a Master
Mechanic for Northrop Grumman, and countless days and hours in Grandpa’s Workshop. He
could build anything and everything, and always delivered his creations with a smile. He would
never accept payment, because seeing his creations in the homes of friends and family was
worth more than any monetary amount. He was the life of the party wherever he went, and you
could always find him on the dance floor or behind the bar. You could always count on him to
greet you with a smile, and he had a special way of making everyone feel like family.
George couldn’t stress enough how important it was to enjoy the moment with loved ones and
make memories because he was a firm believer that when we’re gone, all we will have left is
the memories. George will always be remembered as the best husband, father, grandpa and
friend and would want all of us to “live la vida loca” in his honor.
