Victor Guzman Sr., age 86, of Wilmington, California passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Victor was born December 18, 1934.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Funerariadelangelwilmington.com for the Guzman family.

Vic passed away peacefully, with his children at his side, due to complications from a stroke. He was a longtime resident of Wilmington and graduate of Phineas Banning High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served in the 11th Airborne Division. During his active duty he was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO, Ft. Campbell, KY and Munich, Germany. As a civilian, he worked for McCulloch Motors, Griffith Company (construction) and American Can Company.

Vic married the love of his life, Ida (née Lopez), in 1962. Together they raised four children and enjoyed the love of their nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Additionally, he was one of 13 children of Elias and Macedonia Guzman (née Santos). His family was always a tremendous support system for him, and he loved his many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, godsons, goddaughters, and many others he considered family. Fondly known as Uncle Vic by the larger family and as Lito by his grandchildren and many other loved ones.

For many years he volunteered to coach baseball and football in the Wilmington recreation leagues and would also give his time to help prepare the playing fields for the same leagues. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters (Julia, Meta and Maria Felicitas), and brothers (Joe, Jessie and Bobby). He is survived by his wife, children and their spouses (Vic/Tammy, Dan/Angela, Vickie/George Calvo, and Eddie/Aura), grandchildren (Veronica, Monica, Erik, Marc, Eddie Jr., Adrian, Gisette, Elsie and Ary), great-grandson (Leo), sisters (Mary and Dorothy), brothers (Al, John, Fred and Henry), and many other family members and loved ones.

Words cannot express how proud he was to be a member of his family and how much he loved those he considered family. He will be missed by many.
