Albert Carlton Ganey Jr., age 67, of Wilmington, NC went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2021. He was born in Wilmington on July 22, 1954 to Albert Carlton Ganey Sr and Dorothy Ganey (Todd) who both preceded him in death.
Al retired from Ezzell Trucking as President and was an active member of the North Carolina Trucking Association during his 25 years with Ezzell Trucking. During this time, he served as Chairman and was an influential member on the NCTA Board of Directors. Al loved playing sports, watching sports, especially the Tarheels, he loved entertaining crowds with his jokes and stories, playing the piano, singing, but above all, he loved his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Janice Fowler Ganey, his 3 children, April Pierce (spouse Jackie Pierce), Candice Curtin (spouse Chris Curtin), and Albert Carlton Ganey III, his grandchildren Ryan Teagarden, Christian Curtin, Swain Curtin, Savannah Pierce, Taylor Pierce, Cooper Pierce, his loving brother and best friend Jere Ganey (spouse Sandy Ganey), and sister Julie Canfield and their children.
A visitation will be held on Sunday 1/2/22 at 3:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM at Pine Valley Church of God located at 3810 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC.
