She is survived by her son, Eric Johnson and wife Amanda of Wilmington; three grandchildren: Cadence, Noah, Averly; life partner Alvin Humphrey; brothers: Michael Johnson, Glenn Johnson, Dennis Johnson and Donald Johnson Jr.; sister Sharon Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Johnson.
Brenda was such a uniquely and beautifully created person. Anyone who knew her well knows she would give you the shirt off of her back, and anything else you needed if she had it. She was resourceful; she could always make something out of nothing and enjoyed showing others how to do the same. She loved to cook for her family and was really good at it! Over the years she cared for many faithful canine companions as well as keeping children for family and friends when they were in a bind. She selflessly cared for her mother in her final days. One of her favorite things to do was to spoil her grandchildren and spend as much time with them as she could. She had a kind and giving spirit but was quick to tell you about yourself or crack a joke! She will be greatly missed, but we are thankful for the healing she has found in heaven.
A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, 1155 Shipyard Blvd. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Chris Vernon officiating.
