Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Teagle Edens; mother, Martha Pearl Moore Wood; father, James England Wood; son, James Walter Preston and daughter, Leamona Brock.
Catherine is survived by sons: Dan Edens (Shari Wilhite) of Wilmington, NC and Sam Edens (Tonia Edens) of Bladenboro, NC; daughters: Tanya Johnson of Wilmington, NC and Chandie Edens of Wilmington, NC: six grandchildren; David Edens, Vanessa Davis, Angel Malpass, LaShonda Edens, JoJo Edens and Jamie Johnson. Catherine is also survived by her seven grandchildren.
Catherine was a long standing member of Grace Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC. She did childcare in the home for many years and enjoyed receiving cards and letters from those to whom she was known as “Mama Edens”
A visitation for Catherine will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina. The funeral service will follow.
