

Charles K. "Charlie" Hart, of Wilmington, NC, widower of Mary Serbin died Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 3, 1922. Charlie attended Taylor Alderdice High School in Squirrel Hill, PA and was a WWII Air Force Veteran. Charlie and Mary were married in August 1942. He worked for a short time in 1943 for U. S. Steel before taking a sales position with Sweet Clean Laundry. The family lived in Oakland, PA until 1950 when they moved to Penn Hills where he took a job with Kraft Foods as a salesman in 1956 and moved to Charleroi, PA. He retired in 1980 after 25 years of service from Kraft. Charlie then satisfied a life long dream of owning his own business by opening Chubs Pub Bar and Deli in Donora, PA. He and Mary then moved to Carolina Beach, NC in 1985. Charlie moved to Wilmington NC in 2000. He loved watching sports and news on TV and was an avid bowler, bowling 3 times a week until very recently. He is survived by his 2 sons Charles J. Hart (Beverly) of Topping, VA and Richard G. Hart (Soni) of Phoenix, AZ and 3 grandchildren Wendy Fols of Warsaw VA, Charlie Hart, Jr., of Toronto, Canada and Sean Hart of Phoenix, AZ and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 11:00AM at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Carolina Beach, N.C. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Wilmington Youth Bowling Scholarship Fund, c/o Cardinal Lanes, 3907 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington, NC, 28409.
