Cynthia Ann Sanders Johnson

Mrs. Cynthia Ann Sanders Johnson, "Cindy” to all friends and family, of Wilmington, passed away after an extended battle of Cancer at her home surrounded by her family on the early morning of April 30, 2013. Cindy was the daughter of late Zeb Vance and Willie Margaret Weatherford Sanders.

A wonderful, fun loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife and a sincere loving friend to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and will always have the unyielding love and remembrance of all of her family and friends who were fortunate enough to have been part of her legacy and unrelenting humor.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Zebulon Vance.

She is survived by her three children; David Johnson, Sally Strickland and husband Rick, and Andy Johnson and wife Shannon, brother; William Oliver Sanders, 6 grandchildren; Sarah and Calloway Strickland, Darrion and Martina Johnson, Kari and Grayson Johnson, and numerous other friends and family.

Mom, you have truly left this world a better place, if only just a memory of your smile shining the most brilliant light to find our way home in a sometimes, dark world. We love you.

A gathering to honor the memory of Cindy will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service in Wilmington.
