

Eldridge Guy Batchelor, 92, of Wilmington, NC, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. Born on September 10, 1932, to the late John B. and Lonnie Pierce Batchelor, including his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings; Leona Batchelor Mobley, Roland Batchelor, Clifton Batchelor, Herman Batchelor, Sherman Batchelor and Doctor Benjamin “DB” Batchelor.
Guy lived a life defined by love, faith, humor and service. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle and friend whose memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
Guy proudly served his country in the United States Army stationed in Austria during the Korean War. His service reflected the strong sense of duty and integrity that shaped every aspect of his life. After completing his military service, he pursued a successful career in insurance sales and management, dedicating nearly 35 years to the profession. His honesty, charm and personal touch earned the trust of countless clients and colleagues over the years.
A godly man, Guy was a lifelong follower of Christ and a steady presence in his church community. Known for his wit, warmth, and deep love for people, he had a unique gift for making others feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Whether through a good story, a hearty laugh, or a listening ear, Guy made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
For 70 beautiful years, Guy was married to the love of his life, Dot Batchelor. Their marriage was a shining example of mutual respect, devotion and unwavering love. Together, they built a strong and loving family, which remained the heart of Guy’s life. He was immensely proud of his children, always cheering them on with encouragement and joy.
In his free time, Guy found great pleasure in the simple things-fishing in the intercoastal waterway and sounds, meticulously grooming his yard to perfection and traveling with friends and family.
Guy is survived by his beloved wife, Dot Batchelor; his children, Gregory Batchelor of Wilmington and Cheryl Batchelor of Raleigh/Wilmington; brother Dawson Batchelor of Rose Hill and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Guy will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.
Funeral Service will start at 2:00 PM in the Coble Chapel. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, North Carolina 28412.

Guy Batchelor lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service. He was a man of deep faith and generous heart-a man who left the world better than he found it. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so well.
