Elizabeth Ann Fletcher

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Bets” Fletcher. After a long battle with Lung Disease, Bets passed away peacefully on 26 January 2024. Her husband, Jack Fletcher passed away 34 hours later of Alzheimer’s Disease. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Sonja Fletcher of Melbourne, FL; and her daughter Chris Carpenter of Wilmington, NC. Her grandchildren will surely miss her very much: Brian Flanagan of Catonsville, Md; Amanda and Adam Binford of Alexandria, Va; Kayla Fletcher of Melbourne, FL; and Brooks and Cora Carpenter of Wilmington, NC. Hours before passing away she was able to meet her first and only great-granddaughter, Charlotte Binford of Alexandria, Va, and immediately fell in love with her.

A viewing/wake will be held at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service in Wilmington, NC from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC on February 1, 2024 at 09:00 am followed by a small, private entombment ceremony for the family.

In lieu of flowers, we are raising money to donate to medical facilities and professionals who were so kind and caring to Jack and Bets in getting them through their journey.
