

Eva Brown Habenicht, 91, of Wilmington, NC, went home peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2013, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Eva was born on June 3rd, 1921 in Chersaw, SC., to the late Belton Bascome Brown and Janie Britt Brown.
Eva retired from Williams Cleaners after many years of devoted service. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. As a member she dedicated her time to the church’s soup kitchen ministry, where she was loved by all whom she served. One of Eva’s greatest joys was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ernest, sisters; Lila, Mammie, and Ruth, brothers; Bill and Edwin.
Mrs. Habenicht is survived by her daughters; Brenda and husband Randy, Janet and husband Donald, grandchildren; Billy, Brian, Deborah, Jeff, and Patricia, great-grandchildren; Logan, Darren, David, Chrissy, Christopher, Cameron, Benjamin, and Skylar, great great-grandchildren; Kaden and Jessica, sister; Doris, and numerous other family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Oakdale Cemetery at 2:00pm, with her son-in-law, Randy Wagner officiating.
Eva will be remembered by all whom she helped and will forever be loved by her family. The family would like to thank the staff of New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Silverstream Rehabilitation Center, and Lower Cape Fear Hospice center for all their support and dedication.
