

Evelyn loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping. She was on a bowling league for several years at Cardinal Lanes. She was a beautician and a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. Evelyn was an outgoing woman, a people person, and never met a stranger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Collins; daughter, Debra Collins Goud; two brothers, Junious and Marvin Harris; and a sister Alma Lee.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia F. Suggs and husband Steve; sister, Mary Reeves and husband Eric; brother, John T. Harris, all of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren, Ray McCumber, Kim Roderick, E.J. and Ethan Fowler of Wilmington, NC, Dewayne Alfrord and wife Rhonda, Maranda Rodd and husband Richard, of Loris, SC; two step grandchildren Kevin Suggs and wife Christy, Bradley Suggs of Loris; ten great-grandchildren, Maisie, Dalyn, Lena, Jake, of Wilmington, Brodie, Caleb, Gavin, Kassidy, Cutter, and Grace of Loris, SC; several nieces and nephews; one special caregiver Samantha Smith of Wilmington, NC.
A visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2014 from 6 to 8pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, refreshments will be served during the hours of the visitation for family and friends. A funeral service will be Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service with Dr. Ken Gourlay officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ray McCumber, Chris Smith, Dewayne Alford, E.J. Fowler, Ethan Fowler, and Larry Alford. The soloist will be Jessica Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
