Evelyn Louise Singletary

Evelyn was born on January 31, 1926 in Columbus Co., NC; daughter of the late Martha and Blanco Barefoot.

Evelyn was a member of Lake Forest Baptist Church. She enjoyed growing flowers and working outside and being at church, but what she loved most was taking care of her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Johnnie Ray Singletary.

She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Newsome and her husband, Monty of Wilmington and Judy Flynn and her husband, Sandy of Riegelwood; grandchildren, Sarah and Catherine Tedder and Curt Flynn.

A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Monday, September 17, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Hester officiating.
