George Thomas Hardy III, of Porters Neck passed away December 31, 2012. He was born January 26, 1926 in Newport News, Virginia. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on the USS Gilbert Islands CVE 107 in the Pacific Theater. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice F. Hardy, his daughter and son-in-law Dana and Albert Tuttle. His son and daughter-in-law Reid and Gwyn Hardy and two grandchildren Harrison and Sydney Hardy. He was preceded in death by his son, G.T. Hardy IV. Visitation will be Thursday evening January 3, 2013 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at the home of Reid and Gwyn Hardy, 19 Forest Hills Drive, Wilmington, NC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or a charity of choice.
