George W. Harrington, 69, of Wilmington died unexpectedly on October 24th at home. George was born on November 24, 1945, son of the late Honorable George W. Harrington Sr. and Eleanor (Haberkern) Harrington. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, JoAnn (Gould) Harrington, a daughter, Johanna Harrington of Burlington, NC, and a son, James (Yoshimi) Nomura, and one grandson, Kenshi, of Nara, Japan, as well as several cousins. Calling hours will start at 10:00am for one hour with a Mass to follow at 11:00 on Friday, October 30th at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403 George graduated from West Virginia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Management. As an Industrial Engineer, he worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Xerox and Carrier. For the last 35 years, he was owner of Windows of Wilmington. He also loved boating, fishing, the beach, and spending time with his family and friends. George will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
