

She was born August 6, 1938, in Rocky Mount NC, the daughter of Nolie and Agnes Robinson. Georgia was the first Certified Municipal Clerk in North Carolina, receiving her certification at Syracuse University. She worked for the City of Rocky Mount for 15 years where she was appointed by the Institute of Gov. at Chapel Hill to the NC Educational Survey Committee which resulted in establishing the current Municipal Clerk’s School of Chapel Hill.
Georgia was married to Wiley Langley where they lived at Holden Beach NC. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in September.
Georgia was predeceased by her parents Nolie and Agnes Robinson and her brother David Robinson. She will be forever missed by her loving husband Wiley, her children Lynn Richardson and Robin Langley, her grandchildren Abigail and Lindsay Richardson, and her sister Betty Jo Phelps.
A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 1st at Holden Beach Chapel, 107 Rothschild St., Holden Beach NC. Those who wish to remember Georgia in a special way may donate in her memory to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
