Harold (Hal) Peterson Wells

He was born in New Hanover County on November 13, 1944, son of the late Robert Glenn Wells and Helen Peterson Wells.

Hal graduated from New Hanover High School, class of 1963, and attended Wilmington College. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for fifty two years until such time he was unable to attend.  He retired from Archer Daniel Midland Company.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-two years, Maxine Wells; son, Gary H. Wells and wife Judi of Wilmington; two grandsons, Zachary Weiner and Colby Weiner; one brother, Jerry Wells (Nancy); three sisters, Janice Cates, Shelby Gray (Wallace) and Sue Davis (Graham).

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 5, 2017, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel with the Rev. Wes Hunter officiating, assisted by Ricky Miller.  The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1:00 pm Friday until the service hour.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be nephews, Jerry Wells, Jr., Douglas Wells, Carvie Cates, Kevin Gray, John Gray, Mike Davis, Ricky Miller, Dale Miller, Gene Miller, Joey Miller, Chris Miller, Craig Stinson and Mark Stinson.
