Henry Edward Rommell Sr.

.Henry Edward Rommell, Sr., 62, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011. Mr. Rommell was the son of the late John and Bertha Rommell. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Ellen T. “Jeanie” Rommell, and a son, Henry Edward Rommell Jr. and wife Shanna. He is survived by his special friend Jane Hill, a son; Richard Anthony Rommell and wife Stephanie of Watha, NC, and daughter; Crystal R. Williams and husband Doug of Wilmington, NC, brothers; Carroll Eugene Rommell of TX, and Charles Walls of Myrtle Beach, SC, grandchildren; Colby S. and Shelby L. Rommell, Jeanie R. Williams, Justin R. and Kyle L. Rommell, and one great grandchild, soon to arrive.

Henry was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, and loved spending time with family and friends. He spent many years of dedicated service with Triple T, and Stone Heavy Equipment and Truck Parts. Henry will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched.

The family will receive friends 12:00PM-2:00 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Coble Ward-Smith Oleander Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be 3:00 PM, at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Reverend Kane McKenzie. Serving as pallbearers will be; Jon Joyner, Charles Jones, Brandon Blackburn, Sandy Rivenbark, Kevin Columby, and Richard Ogle, with Douglas Williams and Richard A. Rommell serving as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Olivet Baptist Church.
