He was born on June 9, 1938 to the late Alfonzo and Ava Maultsby. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School, served in the US Army, and retired from Queensboro Steel in Wilmington, NC. During his retirement, he found the most pleasure spending time with his children and grand-children and building birdhouses.
He is survived by daughters Lacrecia Weber and husband Tim (Fuquay-Varina, NC), Barbara Shelley and husband Barry (Cary, NC), grandchildren Wesley Shelley and wife Ellen (Marion, NC), Jeremy Shelley and Chelsea (Hull, MA), and Alexandra Weber (Fuquay-Varina, NC), sister Marie White (New Bern, NC), brother Randy Maultsby (East Palatka, FL).
He is preceded in death by sisters Doris Pavelchak, Jeanette Rollins, Eloise Thomason, and brother Charles Maultsby.
Eddie will be laid to rest at sea in a private ceremony.
