James "Jim" Herbert Taylor

Jim was born on January 31, 1942 son of the late Annie Elizabeth Miller Blanton and Otis Warren Taylor, Sr.

Jim was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge and the Cape Fear Shag Club. Jim was a constant worker that ran three businesses but still loved to be outdoors, shagging and coon hunting.

Including his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Taylor and stepfather, James C. Blanton.

Survivors include his daughter, Gwen Taylor Hill; son Stewart James Taylor and wife, Wendy; granddaughter, Jessica Anne Hill and stepgrandson, B.J. Jarman and wife Michelle; brother, Otis Warren Taylor, Jr., and wife, Betty Lue, sister, Ann Taylor Bradley and husband Richard; half brothers, Jerry Taylor and wife Sheila and Terry Taylor and wife Joann; and special friend, Betty Jean Fiedler.

Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday November 27, 2011 at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive Wilmington, NC 28403.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday November 28, 2011 in the Chapel of Coble Ward- Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Shields officiating.

Graveside service will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery.
