Janie G. Potter

Janie was born on April 13, 1920 in Charlotte Court House, Va. Daughter to the late Archer James Gaines and Mercedes Hodges Gaines.

Survivors include son, Ace Potter of Hampstead, NC; daughters: Rose Duncan and Brenda Inscoe both of Wilmington, NC and daughter, Sylvia Cristina of Rock Hill, SC; 3 siblings, Carl, Tucker and Tillie all of Virginia; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10am to 11am on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.

Funeral Service will be held at 11am with Rev. Jim Dunn of Scotts Hill Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Scotts Hill Baptist Church Library, 185 Scotts Hill Loop Rd, Wilmington, NC 28411 or to the Domestic Violence shelter and services Inc., 2901 Market Street, Wilmington, NC.
