Jerry Ronald McDonald, Sr., 74, of Wilmington, NC died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center. He was born on August 22, 1934 in Hartsville, SC, son of the late Mike and Pauline Barfield McDonald. He is survived by his wife, Patsy King McDonald, two sons, Jerry McDonald, Jr. of Burgaw and Michael A. and wife Mary Kay McDonald of Wilmington, two grandsons, James G. McDonald and Christopher J. McDonald of Watha, NC. Mr. McDonald was predeceased by two brothers, Roger Glen McDonald of Wilmington, NC and Eugene Farrell McDonald of Chicopee, Massachusetts. Mr. McDonald was a Electrical Contractor by profession and a member of the Wilmington Elks Lodge # 532. Pallbearers will be Mr. McDonald's grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Friday, January 23, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning at 10:00am at Andrews Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
