

He was born on May 16, 1943 in Elizabethtown, NC. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lillie Lewis Norris and Arthur Craven Norris, one sister; Lucille Roy, two brothers; Clayton and Willie Norris.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 141/2 years, Peggy Mayhan Norris, Sons; Jerry Norris Jr., ( Wendy), Brandon Norris(Emilea) and Scott Norris, Two step children; Eric Ward (Melissa) and Gina Stout, Three grandsons; Gavin and Bryson Norris and Jay Stout, Three granddaughters; Aleera Norris, Amber and Morgan Sneeden, Two brothers; Bobby Norris (Anarah) and Murray Norris (Shirley) all of Elizabethtown, Two sisters; Lois (Bobby ) Walters and Mary Wharfield, Sisters- in – law, Shirley Norris and Mary Alice Freeburg, Step brothers; Vernon (Darlene) and Thomas; Two step sisters; Liz(John) Janice, Sisters- in -law; Violet Martin and Addie Milstead( Larry), Brother in law, J.W. Clark and special friends, Doug and Ellen Bayse.
Jerry attended school in Elizabethtown and graduated Bladen Community College. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years at Melvin’s in Elizabethtown and was owner of Jerry’s Burger House and worked at Del Labs.
Jerry loved cooking, fishing, golfing but most of all his grandchildren. Jerry faithfully attended First Wesleyan Church in Wilmington.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 26, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00PM at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Services, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday April 27, 2011 at First Westleyan Church of Wilmington, 336 Brenda Drive Wilmington, NC 28409 with Rev. David Lord, Rev. Roger Hayley and Rev. Paul Martin officiating.
Pallbearers will be Scott, Jerry Jr., Brandon Norris, Eric Ward, Joe Johnson and Charles Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Gavin and Bryson Norris, Jay Stout, Ernest Martin, Sam Martin and Rev. Mike Lewis
A graveside service with Military Honors will follow at Oleander Memorial Garden, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to First Wesleyan Church of Wilmington.
