She was born in Onslow County on October 5, 1947, the daughter of the late Major “Boots” Davis and Luela Everett Davis and lived her whole life on Tar Landing Road.
Joan was a graduate of East Carolina University and retired from The State of North Carolina where she worked as an administrator for the Agricultural Extension Office.
Surviving is her husband of twenty-six years, Jimmie Foster, her aunts, first-cousins, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joan loved, and was loved, by everyone she met.
The family would like to express a special note of thanks to all the staff at Lower Cape Fear Life Care.
A graveside memorial service will be held 12:00 noon on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 661 Tar Landing Road, Holly Ridge, NC 28445. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Philips Episcopal Church.
