

He was born October 5, 1951 in Wilmington to John O. King, Sr. and Louise Yandle King, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda King Woody and and a sister, Nancy Herring Logan.
Mr. King graduated from New Hanover High School. He enjoyed Nascar, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., cars, coached children’s ball and was a friend to all. He enjoyed traveling, country music, family, pets was great with his honey do chores and with wheeling and dealing. He was a member of First Advent Christian Church and had previously been employed at Rippy Cadillac and DuPont.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda Sullivan King, of the home, a daughter: Sabrina King of the home, a son: Richard King and his fiancé, Tara Boney of Leland, 3 sisters: Charlotte King Teachey, Lou King Smith, and Judy King Bradshaw, all of Wilmington, four grandchildren: Kambria, Shekhinah, Immanuel, and Ya’Cov (Jacob) Woody.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be reunited with others in heaven. He will be missed and his memory will be cherished and he will not be forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28406 and other times at the home.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Coble Ward Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28406. with Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
