She was born August 24, 1945 in Asheboro, NC. Judy was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was very active with Christmas donations for needy children through the Salvation Army. For many years she made more than 100 gift bags each Christmas.
She is survived by her husband John E. Nelms, Sr.; three children, John, Steve, and Kathy; grandchildren, Alexis, Brittany, Nola, and John and great-granddaughter Piper.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm, Friday, September 1, 2017 at Andrews Valley Chapel, 1408 South College Rd., Wilmington, NC 28412.
A graveside service will be held at 3pm, Saturday, September 2, 2017, at Blackmon Cemetery, Kershaw, SC.
