Kathryn Marie Simmons Kathryn Marie Simmons, of Wilmington, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1953 in Hampton, VA. Kathryn was a nurse with the American Red Cross and New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She loved scrap booking, crafts, flowers and animals especially her pets Dutchy and Bangles. Surviving is her parents, Buddy and Carrie Adkins of Castle Hayne, her husband, Larry Simmons of Wilmington, son, Jason Simmons and wife, Audria, of Wilmington, grandson, Zalen McRay Simmons, brother, Donald Adkins and wife, Connie, of Williamston, N.C. A funeral service will be held 2pm Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7pm to 8pm Friday, February 13, 2009, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel and at other times at 4700 Indian Corn Trail, Castle Hayne.
