

She was born in Hillsborough, NC on June 19, 1922. She was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle in Wilmington, NC. She loved to read the Bible, loved her cats and never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ella Hicks Stamper and Charles E. Stamper and her husband, Clifton Hobbs.
She is survived by her daughter, Olivia Mcgrew (Danny); granddaughters, Debbie Anderson (Esmond), Cindy Caison (Ben), and Ginny Edens (Mike); 8 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Barnhill; two special “sons” Roy Vert and Donald Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 712 Wellington Avenue, Wilmington, NC. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Graveside services will be at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Edens, Esmond Anderson, Stephen West, Colby Edens, Michael Edens, and Matthew Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hanover Humane Society, 2405 N 23rd St Wilmington, NC 28401.
