Marian Louise Daly

Marian L. Daly, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born in Jamestown, NY to the late James O’Connell and Florence May Sheridan O’Connell. Marian attended D’Youville College, in Buffalo, NY and graduated MCL in 1943. She married George Mills on February 14, 1953.

Marian worked for the Westchester Dept. of Social Services from 1950 to 1960. In 1960 she moved from Ossining, NY to Middletown, NY and began working at the Middletown Psychiatric Center. She attended the State University of New York at Albany in 1973. On February 9, 1974, she married her second husband, George Daly.

In 1984, Marian retired and moved to Wilmington, NC with her husband George.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jack O’Connell

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, George Daly, one daughter; Patricia Ellers; one grand-daughter, Lauren Schatz.

A funeral service will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicans Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
