Mary Colleen Batson

Colleen, as she preferred to be called, was born on September 3, 1946; daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary Magdalene Stokely Pittman. As an only child, she was very close to her parents and was her mother’s caregiver for the last five years of her life; after she had a stroke and could no longer be on her own.

Colleen was a very thoughtful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed cooking for her family and taking care of her flowers and her yard.

Colleen would have celebrated her 63rd wedding anniversary this September with her beloved husband, Jimmy B. Batson, together they had two children. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Bryan K. Batson and daughter, Mary Janine Batson Tremain and husband, Todd Tremain, granddaughter, Stephanie D. Tremain and many nieces and nephews. Also, a special longtime friend, Ethel C. Barrett of Canadian, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 20,2026 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
