Mary Ellen Lawrence Murphy passed away at the Wilmington Health and Rehab Center on Thursday, July 19, 2012, after a short, but valiant fight against cancer. She was 78 years old. She is survived by a brother and sister Michael Murphy and Veronica Mashburn ""Aunt Mickey"", her four sons and two daughters-in-law Eugene Pucknat, Mark Jaunsen, Curtis and Leigh Jaunsen, Conor and Stella Jaunsen, three grandchildren McAulay and Stewart Jaunsen, Shannon Lee, one great-granddaughter Li'l Miss Lochlin Lee. She was born Dec. 6, 1933, at the height of the Great Depression, in the Bronx, New York to John and Mary Murphy King, who immigrated from Ireland. There will be a memorial service for our mother at Andrews Mortuary on Market Street in Wilmington, NC, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 1 p.m. Her ashes will ultimately be interred next to those of her late husband, Ronald A. Lawrence LTC, U. S. Army at Arlington National Cemetery.
