Mary Lena Byrd Price, 86, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC. She was born in Kinston, NC, on June 23, 1928, daughter of the late Levi B. Byrd and Charity Elizabeth Barfield Byrd. Her husband, Jesse William Price, Sr. preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Jesse William Price, Jr., her daughter, Pamela Price Cullen; grandsons, Jesse William Price, III and Brett Scott Cullen, Jr.; and her canine companion, Rudy. Her family wishes to extend their strong heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the very special group of doctors, nurses, and staff at Vidant Duplin Hospital and Kenansville Health and Rehabilitation for the their kindness and professional attention shared with them and with Mrs. Price while she was in their care. Memorial gifts if desired may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children or a charity of individual preference. A private service will be held for Mrs. Price at a later date.
