Born on September 17, 1962, in Odessa, Texas, to Frances Dale Logan and Carmella “Millie” Logan, Mia inherited a fierce spirit and a boundless capacity for love. She grew up with a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting. Her happiest moments were often spent in the company of her cherished horse, Dove, and her beloved dogs, Fluffy and Butter.
Mia was a fiercely loyal friend, the type of person who would drive for hours just to celebrate a birthday or a wedding, always bringing sunshine and laughter with her.
Professionally, Mia found her calling in healthcare. After graduating from Carteret Community College, she began her impactful career at NHRMC in 2002. As a dedicated Respiratory Therapist, she continually developed her skills and became an integral part of the community. She worked tirelessly until her hospitalization in December 2025.
Her dedication was never more evident than during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mia worked selflessly through different variants, putting on her cap and her "not today Rona" shirt to serve on the front lines. Recognizing the isolation faced by patients separated from their families, she offered comfort, bringing guardian angels to staff and patients alike and praying with all who needed solace. Her commitment to caring for others was profound and unwavering.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Toni Willoughby, and her husband Matt, of San Antonio, Texas, and her two adoring grandchildren, Isabelle Carmela Willoughby and Remington Alford-William Willoughby; brother, Ricci Logan and wife Tonia of Aiken, South Carolina along with countless friends and colleagues whose lives were brightened by her presence.
