Nancy Tatum Brewer

            Nancy was born November 15, 1940 in Fayetteville, NC, daughter of the late James H. Tatum and Letha Horne Tatum. Her husband, H.S. “Bud” Brewer, and a brother, James L. Tatum, preceded her in death.

            Nancy graduated from Massey Hill High School and Worth Business College, both in Fayetteville, and retired from First Union Mortgage in Wilmington.

            She is survived by her son, Michael Maxwell of Wilmington; four brothers, Bobby Tatum (Linda) of Raeford, NC, Tommy Tatum (Joyce) and Mitchell Tatum (Peggy), all of Grays Creek, NC, and William Tatum (Sue) of White Oak, NC; three sisters, Annie Tatum Britt and Linda Pape, both of Wilmington, and Mary Jackson (Bud) of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, Jennifer Maxwell and Kelly Barron, both of Wilmington; and four great-grandchildren.

            A funeral service will be held at 8:00pm Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, with Bishop Bill Tatum and Rev. Tom Tatum officiating. Prior to the service, the family will greet friends from 7:00pm until the service hour. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Cross Creek Cemetery in Fayetteville.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
