Ola Belle York

Services will be held Saturday the 26th of November at the Chapel of Coble Ward-Smith, a Dignity Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington. The Rev. Jeff Nichols, of Anchor Baptist, will officiate. The family will receive friends at 5PM, prior to the Funeral Service at the Funeral Home.

She was born December 3rd, 1931, in Jackson County, NC, daughter of the late Wood and Juanita Smith of the Cullowhee, NC community. She retired from Civil Service work in Hampton, Virginia in 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Reid York who died in 2007. They lived their retired life at The Village's of Lady Lake Florida, until 2007 when she moved to Wilmington, NC.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen York, of Richmond, VA, and Sheila York Foxworth of Wilmington, NC; one brother, Harold Dean Smith of Cullowhee, NC; and one sister, Shirley Ann Daniels, of Tallahassee, FL; two grandsons, Jason and Jake Foxworth both of Wilmington, NC; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center Wilmington, NC. Burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery, in Bushnell, Florida.
