Peggy B Setzler

Peggy Brown Setzler walked into the arms of her loving Savior on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Born in Verona, NC on January 6, 1942, Peggy was the daughter of the late Oscar and Eleanor Brown of Verona. The youngest of three siblings, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Brown, and sister, Mary (Brown) Suggs as well as her beloved son, Brandon.

While Peggy had many roles, devoted mother and loving Grams were her two favorites. She loved her family fiercely but loved the Lord even more. Peggy was a life-long member of Pine Valley Methodist Church where she enjoyed serving in many ways until she was no longer physically able. Born with a servant’s heart, Peggy also loved giving back to her community as a dental assistant, nurse, Meals on Wheels and social services volunteer, soccer mom and school volunteer. Peggy also enjoyed spending time with the extended family she loved, especially in the NC mountains.

Expert advice-giver, “character builder”, bus rodeo champion, snow cream aficionado and Volvo enthusiast were also some of the titles she cherished.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Dr. Ralph Setzler, and two daughters, Ashley Bertz (Chuck) and Meredith Bertz (Greg), all of Cary, NC. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Brandon, Conner, and Anna Bertz and Hunter and Jackson Gill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Pine Valley Methodist Church or 3HC Hospice.
