Ronald Griffin

He was born September 12, 1932 in Elizabeth, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Griffin and Mary H. Luster, by his loving wife Frances A. Griffin, and his brothers Warren Griffin and Allan Griffin. 

He is survived by his son Bradley Griffin and his wife LeeAnne, daughter Adrienne Griffin, daughter Sandra Moore and husband James, daughter Irene Slevin, sister Janice Fodor, sister Georgeann Kaspriske, his 8 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Ronald was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served 4 years during the Korean War era. He graduated from Rutgers University before obtaining his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT. Ronald was a 21 year resident of Kure Beach and had retired from a 33 year career in Aerospace Engineering in California and Maryland. Ronald was the Line Dance Instructor at both the Carolina Beach and Kure Beach locations. His other retirement activities included genealogy, creation and administration of websites, doing volunteer work for the Town of Kure Beach, serving as an officer with the Federal Point Historic Preservation Society and participating in the Music Ministry at the Kure Memorial Lutheran Church. 

A viewing will take place at from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016, at Andrews Valley Chapel 4108 South College Road, Wilmington, NC.

 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 13, 2016 at Kure Memorial Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dan Keck officiating. Interment will follow in Federal Point Cemetery, with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
