Mama was born on February 4, 1931 in Freeman, NC to Richard V. Carroll and Nora Alford Carroll.
She was preceded in death by all siblings: Mary Carroll Hobbs, Lawrence Wellington Carroll and Eva Mae Carroll Hartzog.
She was married in July 1947 to Charles A. Roethlinger, Jr (Chuck) who passed into Heaven in September 2000. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Theresa Diane Roethlinger in February 1959.
There is a celebration in Heaven as she arrives to see all who have been waiting for her.
Surviving is her son, Charles A. Roethlinger, III and daughter, Gale Roethlinger Fincannon, Grandchildren, Natasha Roethlinger Moffitt (Cameron) and Steven Charles Fincannon (Tabatha), and Great Grandchildren, Noah Cameron Moffitt and Kirra Ann Fincannon. Their lives will not be the same without their Gram. She is the very best Gram to them and they are the loves of her life. She loves each of them so much and it shows in everything she said and did each and every day.
Mama has been the best aunt ever to her surviving Nieces and Nephews and her Great Nieces and Great Nephews each of which loves her dearly.
A special acknowledgement for Bonnie Carroll Ivey, with whom Mama was Aunt, Mother, Sister, and Best Friend.
She leaves one remaining brother in law, Pat Roethlinger and one sister in law, Minnie Roethlinger Lunsford.
Mama worked for many years for Dr. Alton Fales and later would retire from New Hanover County Health Department as X-Ray “Lady” at 77 years young.
Mama was a devoted member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She dearly loves her church family and Rev. Paul Waters.
