Sean Patrick Cusick

Sean Patrick Cusick, 23, son of Christopher and Kris Cusick, of Wilmington, NC passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012. He was currently serving in the U.S. Navy. Sean is also survived by sister, Megan Courtney Cusick of Wilmington, NC.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Mark Catholic Church with Fr. Marco Gonzalez officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. in the Magnolia Room of Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service in Wilmington.

Sean was born in Rockland County, NY and moved to Wilmington, NC in 2001. While in NY he won the soapbox championship and represented NY in the World Championship in Ohio. Sean always enjoyed sports, participated on the E.A. Laney High School Track Teams earning a medal at the State Championships in the High Jump. He joined the U.S. Navy and participated in the relief effort in Haiti while serving on the U.S.S. Nassau. The crew of the Nassau went on deployment setting a record for days at sea without any liberty. After the Nassau he served on USS Nitze. Sean loved his friends and family, and will be missed until we meet again. Rest in Peace Son and Thank you.
