He was born on December 18, 1955 in Durham, North Carolina, to the late Curtis Watson, and Ella Mae Donahue.
Steve served in the U.S Military, then proceeded with a career as the Signal Security Manager over Southeastern North Carolina at Time Warner Cable for over 25 years. He loved fishing and bowling. He was involved in his church and was a missionary in Brazil, South America. He was a loving husband to his wife Tracy and a wonderful and amazing father and grandfather.
Mr. Watson is survived by his lovely wife of 41 years Tracy Watson, daughter Ashley Pope (Christopher); daughter Brittanie Alyssa Smith, six grandchildren: Matthew Derrick Watson II, Gabriella Watson, Mackenzie and Ethan Pope, Zavia and Sofia Cooper; great granddaughter Mattie Lou Watson.
He is preceded in death by his son Matthew Derrick Watson and daughter Casey Renee Cooper.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2024 from 2-4pm at Andrews Valley Chapel 4108 S College Rd Wilmington, NC 28412.
