Theodoshia Christine Bailey

Theodoshia Christine Bailey, 96, of Wilmington passed away Monday, March 02, 2009. She was born in Lynchburg, SC on April 4, 1912 to the late Johnny McLeod and Ida Broach McLeod. Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Douglas Bailey, son, Joel Bailey, daughter Betty Jernigan, sister Lila Driggers, and brother Albertus McLoed Christine was a longtime member of Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Craft club at the church, and a member of the Railroad Oldtimers Club. She was retired from Block Shirt Manufacturer. Christine enjoyed working outdoors in her vegetable and flower gardens. She is survived by her son, John Bailey and wife, Betsy of Lancaster, PA, son-in-law Cecil Jernigan of Wilmington and daughter-in-law Lynne Bailey of Wilmington. Seven grandchildren, Debbie Warwick, Joel David Bailey, Jr., Cathy McClanahan, Glenna Bishop, Susan Krause, Greg Bailey, Anita Bailey; ten great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. June Highfill officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, The family will receive friends Thursday, at the church, prior to the service, from 10 to 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3902 Market St., Wilmington, NC, Lower Cape Fear Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
