

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Bland Turner and many aunts and uncles.
Tim graduated from Burgaw High School and attended Chowan College. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy as a Seabee serving two tours in Vietnam. He earned the rank of 3rd class petty officer. He retired from Bellsouth after 27 years of service. Tim was a lifelong Christian who loved the Lord. He was a member of Masonboro Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Issues Sunday School class. He was also a member of the VFW, St. John’s Lodge #1, Telephone Pioneers and a life member of CWA.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Susan Ambrose Turner; daughter, Tina Marie Turner Moore; grandson, Colton Moore; mother-in-law, Blanche Ambrose, of the home; cousins, Larry Smith (Barbara), Patrick Smith (Trish) and Beverly Plant (Howard); sister-in-law, Gayle Turner and son Corey Turner; brother-in-law, Peter Ambrose (Vicki) and son Steven Ambrose (Karen) and their children, Trinity, Sean and Alyssa; brother-in-law, Wallace Ambrose (Jeannie) and daughter Ellen; and many other family and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00pm Thursday, February 20, 2014, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Shallotte. Services will be officiated by Dr. Gordon Wright and Pastor Larry Knowles.
