Victor Davis Batson

He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie H. and Mae K. Batson and one brother, Linwood R. Batson.

In addition to his loving wife Edith, he is survived by his daughter Vickie Batson, son Keith Batson and wife Lisa, and his grandchildren Scott Whiteted, Trevor and Carli Batson.

He was a graduate of New Hanover High School and attended Wilmington College. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from International Paper.

Victor’s passions included his family, golf and spending time outdoors. He was an exceptional athlete and played sports for NHHS, Wilmington College and the Army. He was a past member of Winter Park Optimist, coaching Little League for many years. He was a current member of Riegelwood Country Club and enjoyed many years of playing golf with “The One O’Clockers”. He loved his church family and was an active member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00PM – 7:00PM Sunday, October 25th at Coble Ward-Smith. A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Monday, October 26th at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dodd Mays officiating.
