He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nola Canady Myers and his son, Clayton Lamar Canady.
Walter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Canady; one daughter, Evaengline Ames; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to offer thanks to the staff of Continuum Home Care and Hospice and North Chase Nursing and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care shown to Walter.
