

Wayne Marvin Hansen departed from his earthly home on Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2013. He was 76 years old. Wayne was born in the early morning hours on December 23, 1936 in Anoka, Minnesota and was the oldest son of Marvin Cornelius Hansen and Alice May Olson Hansen. At the age of 14, Wayne formally professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at St. Luke's Lutheran Church where he received the solemn rite of Confirmation and communion. Wayne was gifted in music and voice and in his younger years enjoyed singing and playing the trumpet and accordion. When called upon, He served his country honorably in the army and returned home to Minnesota to marry Marjorie Ann Beissel in 1964. Wayne enjoyed golfing and was an avid bowler averaging 181 per game. Wayne was a committed husband and father and provided for his family without complaining. In 2003, Marge left his side for her heavenly home. He kept an eye out for his neighbors and was known for his homemade bread and his little dog "Benji". Wayne was predeceased by his brother David, his wife, Marge and his niece, Wendy Hansen. He leaves behind his 2 sons; Darrin Hansen (Cherryl) of Rocky Point, NC, and Dean Hansen of Anchorage, Alaska; his brother Harvey Hansen (Nancy) of St Paul, Minnesota; 2 grandchildren, Brianna and Connor Hansen; many nieces and nephews along with many other family members and friends and of course, his best friend, "Benji". Wayne Hansen leaves behind a legacy of generosity and commitment. He will be remembered for his big heart, his smile and his "Let's get this show on the road!" attitude. A funeral service will be held at 7pm Friday, November 15, 2013, at Andrews Market Street Chapel with Rev. Timothy Cook officiating. Prior to the service, the family will greet friends from 6pm until the service hour. The committal service will be held at 11am Saturday, November 16, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery.
