William "Charlie" Charles Hall, II

William Charles “Charlie” Hall II of Ivanhoe NC passed away Sunday June the 11th at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.  He was proceeded in death by his family, Mr. Haywood Lee Tilley Sr., Mrs. Addie Umstead Tilley, their son H.L. “Buck” Tilley jr. and his wife Dolly Lea Tilley.  

Charlie was raised in Scotts Hill, NC where he later owned and operated the family business, Scotts Hill Stables and The Saddle Shop for over 21 years.   He had a love for horses from his early childhood that he maintained throughout his entire life. He enjoyed going to horse shows, breeding, raising, and training horses and spending time with others that enjoyed the same hobby.  He also enjoyed working with leather and followed in Mr. Tilley’s footsteps by repairing saddles later in life. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and his quick-witted comments kept you on your toes.  He was truly a blessing to his family and friends and will be missed dearly.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 53 years Pamela Bruton Hall, his sons Charlie, Dwayne and Lee.  His grandchildren Ethan, Alex, Morgan, Liam and Sadie Hall.

A time of celebration of Charlie’s Life  will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:30 am at Andrews Mortuary on Market St.
