Willie Sprunt Hayes

Willie joined the United States Navy in 1948 and became seaman 1st class before returning home in 1953. After his time in the military he became a business owner. Willie owned and operated Hayes Tire Center in Leland, NC for many years. He was the business manager for carpenters local 1165 for several years and president of State Building Trades for four years. Willie was a member of Arab Shrine #145 New Bern, NC and a member of justice. In 2017 he was awarded his 50-year pin with Shriners International.

Willie is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Johnson Hayes and all of his siblings.

He is survived by nephews, nieces, a sister-in-law and special friends.

There will be a graveside service 11 am Friday, August 7, 2020 in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the graveside service. Pastor Don Brown will be officiating.
