

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; John Wesley and Irene Sauls Herring, one son; George Wesley Herring Jr., one daughter, Tracy Hope Herring, one brother in law; James Ray Driver (Maxine), and one sister in law; Barbara Driver Bailey.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Alice Faye Driver Herring of the home, two daughters; Teressa Herring Aldapa (Alfredo) of Wilson, and Donna Herring Rivera (Danny) of Jacksonville, four grandchildren; Brandon E. Hardison (Mimi) of Goldsboro, Alfredo (Trey) Aldapa III of Goldsboro, London Ray Rivera of Florida, and Jacob Ryan Rivera of Wilmington, three great-grandchildren; Dianna, Dana and Jovany, two sisters; Janice Faye Harrell of Durham and Brenda Herring Gay of Wilson; one brother; John Robert Herring of Goldsboro, three brothers-in- law; Jerry Lee Driver of Wilson, Garland Driver(Joan) of Kenly, and William Atlas Driver Jr.(Debbie) of Selma and two sisters- in- law; Judy Driver Turnage of Wilson and Connie Driver Hinnant (Rick) of Zebulon.
Billy was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord, his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, 2704 Nash St, N, Wilson, NC. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 am at the Stantonsburg Town Cemetery and will be officiated by Garland and Jerry Driver.
